Job Description: As an Infant Toddler Lead Teacher / Director at Kama’aina Kids, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and development of our youngest learners. Our NEW Infant Toddler center in Lahaina serves up to 18 children. You will work closely with a small team, ensuring a nurturing and enriching environment for our infants and toddlers.
Responsibilities:
- Classroom Management: Oversee a classroom of infants and toddlers, ensuring their safety, engagement, and development.
- Staff Mentor: Provide support and training for other staff, ensuring they meet the highest standards of care.
- Curriculum and Quality Programs: Maintain and enhance curriculum quality, ensuring educational programs align with best practices.
- Health and Safety Measures: Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to create a secure environment for children.
- Parent Communication: Foster positive relationships with families, keeping them informed about their child’s progress.
- Enrollment: Help manage children’s enrollment, ensuring accurate records and compliance with state regulations.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Handle some administrative tasks, scheduling, and coordination to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Candidates should meet the education and experience qualifications for “Lead Caregivers” as set forth by Hawai’i DHS. (PATCH HAWAII LINK) Caregiver qualified or applicants with childcare experience may also be considered.
- Experience: Prior leadership or management experience in early childhood education or childcare is preferred.
- Passion: A genuine love for working with infants and toddlers.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead a small team, inspire excellence, and maintain a positive work environment.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate with staff, parents, and community members.
- Hours: The program operates from approximately 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
