Roles in our Preschool Division
-
Teacher
Preschool Teachers manage a classroom with children that may range from 2 to 5 years of age, often with an Assistant or Aide. They implement fun, hands-on activities from our educational curriculum each day. Of course, they also ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed and that children are engaged and well-cared for. They monitor the development of each child with regular assessments and maintain great communication with families.
-
Caregiver
Caregivers work with Infants and Toddlers from as young as 6 weeks old through 24 months. They provide nurturing care that meets all the needs of a little one while engaging them in learning activities throughout the day. If you love cuddling and singing to babies while they grow so fast, this might be the career path for you!

Teacher Assistant
This is a great place to start in the early education field! Duties include assisting Teachers throughout the day as they implement curriculum and care for the children. Assistants learn a lot on-the-job and get great training as they work alongside our amazing Teachers and Caregivers. This is where many of our Teachers and even Directors get their start!
Center Director
Center Directors manage the day-to-day operations of a preschool. This includes everything from parent communication and children's enrollment to staff scheduling and health & safety measures. They provide support and training for staff and ensure that curriculum and quality educational programs are maintained. Center Directors are often long-term employees who are promoted from within. Many of our Directors began their careers as Teacher Aides or Assistants. They receive monthly training on a variety of early childhood education topics. This helps them provide leadership and guidance to center staff.
Be on a Championship Team!
Most of our Kama'aina Kids Preschools have earned national recognition through N.E.C.P.A. (National Early Childhood Program Accreditation). This is a voluntary appraisal of a program's quality that less than 10% of preschools achieve! Our teams are very proud of accomplishing this recognition together! Learn more about the benefits of national accreditation HERE.
Grow with us!
At Kama'aina Kids, training starts right away with our new employee orientation. New staff learn about health & safety, curriculum, family communication, and so much more! Workshops and faculty meetings are held throughout the year to ensure that each employee receives at least 24 hours of in-service training. We also provide all staff with access to hundreds of online courses that are designed to support early childhood educators. From onboarding to online workshops, there are so many opportunities to learn and grow at Kama'aina Kids!
