We're Seeking a 1 on 1 Group Leader for Children with Special Needs in our After School Program in Honolulu! (Waimea Elementary A+ Program)

Position Summary for 1 on 1 Group Leader:
Kama’aina Kids is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as 1 on 1 Group Leaders in our After School programs. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with a special needs student, providing them with support during our after-school program hours.
Hours:
Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, from 1:30 or 2pm until 5:30pm. Hours may vary slightly by school and program needs. However, No Evenings or Weekends!
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for your student to learn and engage in after-school activities.
- Help develop and implement age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, and educational projects.
- Ensure that your student is accounted for and maintain accurate records as applicable.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the success of the program.
- Establish support and appropriate relationships with the student and family members, providing daily updates to parents/guardians.
- Care for and maintain facilities and equipment used by the group, with a focus on hygiene standards.
- Attend and participate in all required training and meetings.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with SPED, RBT, helpful, but full training will be provided
Teacher Certification Not Required! This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with young children and expand your knowledge of education & child development. A Typical Day in the School Age Program might look like this:
- Greet the children as they arrive
- Help your student get a snack and wind down after a busy school day
- Assist with homework if needed
- Support your student to participate in activities and enjoy the program
- Have fun playing board games, making crafts, building with Legos, and other activities!
- Communicate with your student's parent/caregiver at the end of the day
- Go home with the satisfaction of making a difference today!
