Positions Available: Teachers and Aides for Preschool / Infant & Toddler Classrooms
We are looking for enthusiastic Teachers and Aides to bring their skills and passion to our Preschool, PreK, or Infant/Toddler classrooms. Assistants will provide essential support to teachers and nurture our youngest learners.
Job Description: Preschool Teacher or Aide
Are you passionate about working with children and eager to make a positive impact on their lives? We want you on our team! We're currently hiring for Teachers and Assistants who will play a key role in nurturing young minds, encouraging growth, and supporting children's development.
Responsibilities Include:
- Creating a Safe Space: Ensure a safe and engaging environment where children can learn and grow.
- Implementing Curriculum: Deliver age-appropriate educational programs and activities.
- Supervising Activities: Oversee children's play and interactions to ensure safety and promote positive behavior.
- Providing Hygiene and Care: Attend to children's hygiene needs, including diapering and toilet training, while teaching the importance of cleanliness.
- Serving Meals and Nutrition: Help with meal and snack preparation and join children during meals to model good manners and engage in conversation.

Keeping Records: Track each child's progress, interests, and any areas of concern.
- Communicating with Parents: Keep parents updated about their child's experiences and progress.
- Collaborating with the Team: Work closely with your colleagues to achieve our shared goals.
A Typical Day as a Teacher or Aide:
Start your day with warm welcomes, implement fun and educational activities, share snuggles and stories, enjoy outdoor play, participate in meals, ensure safety and comfort, communicate with families, and prepare for the next day—all while reflecting on the meaningful difference you’re making!
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Flexibility and a willingness to adapt and learn.
Qualifications:
- For Teachers: A mix of experience and education is required. Ideal candidates may have a CDA (Child Development Associate) or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, completed coursework in early childhood education, and 6-12 months of experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- For Caregivers (Infant/Toddler Teachers): Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 12 college credits in early childhood or 30 hours of Infant/Toddler Development Training, and 12-24 months of experience with children under 36 months in a licensed childcare environment.
Don't worry if you don't meet these qualifications exactly—Kama'aina Kids is committed to helping you grow. We offer training in Infant/Toddler Development and support in obtaining your CDA, all at no cost to you! Start by applying for a "Teacher Aide" role and begin your rewarding career journey with us!
- Assistant Teacher / Aides can join our team without professional experience. If you've worked as a Nanny, children's athletic coach, or volunteered in scouting or children's ministry, that experience will certainly help prepare you for this role! High School Diploma or GED required as well as a willingness to obtain training toward your CDA (provided!) or earning electives in Child Development. (Starting pay $15-$16.50. Once you qualify for Teacher or Caregiver, you'll be eligible for promotion)
